History

The most important milestones in the company’s history in more than 50 years:

In 1967, Günther Martin and his wife Helga founded a metalworking business in Ketschengasse in Coburg (see photo).

In 1969, the company moved to the greater district of Coburg. The area around the former school of Kleingarnstadt offered sufficient space for the successful expansion as a result of the focus on the automotive industry as well as the specialization in toolmaking, stamping and forming technology.

In 1998, company founder Günther Martin handed over the management of the company to his then 33-year-old son and managing partner Peter Martin.

In 2005, the company acquired a new factory site in close-by Rödental, where the capacities for further growth were set.
Martin Stanz- und Umformtechnik GmbH was founded in Parsberg in 2010.

In 2011, the Martin Group established its first foreign location with the founding of Metec UAB in Vilnius/Lithuania.

In 2015, the first 800-ton servo press went into operation in Plant 2, and more have since followed in Rödental and Parsberg.

In 2019, an automated assembly cell with several robots, including welding and gluing operations, went into operation.

In 2021, the plans for the new plant in Lithuania became more concrete. Construction is scheduled to begin next year.
